East Indian Kadmat or Cuchumber Salad (Gluten Free)

The East Indian Kadmat or Cuchumber is a traditional East Indian salad made from mangoes, onions and chillies.

  • 2 Raw Mangoes
  • 2 Onions
  • 3 Green Chillies Or 1 tbsp East Indian Bottle Masala
  • 2 Sprigs Coriander
  • 1 tbsp Vinegar (Apple Cider) Optional
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Sugar


  • Chop the mangoes, onions, green chillies and coriander fine. (If you have access to East Indian bottle masala, you can use this instead.)
  • Toss them together with the salt and sugar and vinegar in a salad bowl.
  • Add a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. This is optional, but it enhances the taste.
  • Serve with dinner or lunch.
